Buddy Williams, Sustainability Director, designed the transformation of an underutilized one-acre field at the entrance to Quivira’s estate into a vibrant, organically farmed garden that welcomes and educates visitors while advancing biodiversity. More than 100 raised beds showcase exceptional heritage cultivars, offering a dynamic demonstration of sustainable and biodynamic agriculture in practice. Adding to the garden’s diversity, a small flock of chickens and a well-rounded resident pig contribute to the ecological balance.
An elevated observation deck and a modest storage structure serve as focal points for gathering and orientation.
