Annesso Pizzeria

Fresno, CA
This day-to-night restaurant is the second eatery by local Fresno restaurateur Jimmy Pardini. Located in a new shopping center, the large vanilla shell space needed architectural definition. We begun by taking the Annesso logo (a large A), and interpreted it as a bold, angled wood ceiling over the pizza ovens and the bar to add drama and focus. Next we designed unique “seating zones”, with the use of custom curved oak banquettes, creating rooms within the room. Now guests can have a different experience each time they come.

At 6,500 SF, the blank, newly-built, vanilla-shell space needed an architectural intervention to break up the space and to make it more human-scaled. We designed a variety of custom curved and clover-shaped wood banquettes, creating rooms within the larger room.
